Maintenance and Future Posts

Now viewers can post comments anonymously. If anyone notices inaccuracies, errors, links that don't work, etc., let me know.

Throughout this week and next week, I will write about the strengths of every Husker opponent, the weaknesses, home/away differential in winning percentages of Big XII teams and Nebraska opponents, and give my predictions on each game of the Nebraska season.

Before the season starts, I will give my predictions on all the BCS conferences and how I see the conference season playing out.

2 days until Husker fall camp begins

28 days until college football kicks off

30 days unit the Big Red takes the field

  1. I got the big red winning 9 games. My loses are against Oklahoma and Colorado (Gross huh). I feel as if my prediction could easily be upside down with close loses to Va tech, Texas Tech and Baylor. I feel missou just won’t be good this year and Kansas’s is being a little too hyped.

My reason’s for my 2 guaranteed loses.

Oklahoma - They are too good. We aren’t talented enough, fast enough, smart enough or have played well in big games the past 6 years. The sooner’s could possibly be ranked number 1 in the country and if my prediction is right, NU would be undefeated as well, which smells like gameday and a whole lot of hype for the game.

Colorado - Call me crazy, Dan Hawkins is probably the 4th/5th best coach in the Big 12.

    Stoops
    Brown
    Mangino/Leech
    Hawkins

That is easily debatable and could be changed 5000 times during a season.

Hawkins is a proven winner (Just not yet at CU). He has the young players to beat us handily. The thing is, by the time the thanksgiving classic comes around those players wont be very young anymore. Plus you put the rivalry tag on the game and you got a dog fight.

The good thing about this prediction is: I think it is going to take 5-3 in league play for the north team to make it to the championship game. I feel like Nebraska is going to make it to that plateau first...

  2. Blaylock - Thanks for your commentary. Great comments. I always enjoy hearing/reading opinions about Nebraska and the Big XII. I won't tell you how I have the Husker season playing out just yet, that will have to wait for a week or two.

I was very interested in your list of the top coaches in the Big XII and while I won't argue Hawkins success at Boise State, at this time I think he has a lot to prove as a Big XII coach. In fact, the only coach whose seat is hotter than his in the Big XII is Mike Sherman of Texas A&M.

  3. I cant disagree that Hawkins has been less than stellar in the big 12 but I just believe there is a reason why he won all those games At BSU. This year, we might se why.
